Melissa

Melissa was born in Miami, Florida and raised in Sarasota, Florida. Ever since she could remember, Melissa developed a passion for women’s health and health care. Her calling to care for others was rooted in her through her upbringing in the Haitian culture, and her observation of the health disparities that minorities like herself face in the healthcare system. Melissa earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology, with a minor in Child Development in 2018. She hopes to pursue a Master’s of Nursing to become a Nurse Practitioner as a Certified Nurse Midwife. In 2019, Melissa received her training as a Birth and Postpartum Doula and has loved helping various families on their journey to parenthood ever since. To be able to assist and provide resources for expectant mothers and families, and witnessing amazing birth stories has been rewarding for her. Melissa’s experience as a doula has increased her passion for women’s health even more. With each birth, it motivates her to know that she is making a positive impact.
